READY FOR THE CHALLENGE?

Recruitment of all PhD students follows the recommendation principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers.

RaBBiT 2.0 continues committed to its original and founding values that, no student will be discriminated against on the basis of their gender, race, colour, ethnic origin, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, caring or parental responsibilities, age, or beliefs on matters such as religion and politics.

Selection and ranking criteria are designed to select highly motivated candidates, with high level of scholar and intellectual ability and possible adequate professional experience (if applicable). The multidisciplinary nature of the research means that RaBBiT is open to candidates from a number of undergraduate backgrounds including the physical, chemical, biochemical, medical and engineering sciences. Selection and ranking will not be performed on the basis of gender and/or ethnic issues and the criteria used implicitly ensure that a purely meritocratic basis is used. Candidates will be evaluated not only based on past performance but on potential for future development.

While dependent on each call type, criteria used will include:

  • Excellence of the student’s academic degrees and record;
  • Personal history statement / Statement of purpose;
  • Letters of recommendation (at least two);
  • Relevant work experience;
  • Appropriateness of the applicant's research interests to the PhD programme;
  • Personal interview.
